Welcome to the Bras d'Or Yacht Club, located in historic Baddeck, on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, on the shores of the the Bras d'Or Lakes.
Surrounded by indigo hills and open to the ocean at either end of Cape Breton, lakes within islands, the Bras d'Ors are often referred to as Canada's Inland Sea and offer the most beautiful sailing venue in all of Nova Scotia, probably in all of Canada, quite possibly the world. With warm waters and steady breezes, the Bras d'Or Lakes are the perfect location to enjoy the tranquil sport, the exciting sport of sailing.

Learn to Sail 2013 goes green!
2013 is the 100th Anniversary of Regatta Week at the Bras d’Or Yacht Club. We are launching
into the next century with online registration for all our LEARN TO SAIL programs using a website
linked with our national organization SAIL Canada, formerly the Canadian Yachting Association
(or CYA).
In addition to on-line registration, this website will offer the instructors, student and
parents the opportunity to review their progress and link to instructional videos. The kids will love

2013 - 100th Anniversary of BYC Regatta

If there ever was a year to celebrate, 2013 is it. One hundred years of Regatta Week at the Bras d'Or Yacht Club. This year's race week will be very special indeed.
Every year, starting on the first Sunday of August with Sail Past through Baddeck harbour, a full week of racing, prams, optis, lasers, 420s, yachts, and culminating on Saturday with the most beautiful trophy of all, the Gardiner Hubbard Bell trophy. You won't want to miss this one.

In the next few days the 2013 Learn to Sail programs will be available here online. You will be able to register for classes and pay online too. Check back soon.
Later on we'll be adding registration for race week, and membership, and eventually a BYC Store where you will be able to buy BYC regalia.
BYC AMENDED BYLAWS - APPROVED AT AGM

The updated Bylaws for BYC are in the attached document. Click the link below to open the PDF file.
The bylaws have not been reviewed since at least 1984. A regular review is required by the Joint Registry of Stocks. The amendments were approved at the recent 2013 AGM and are now in effect.
